A few of the questions clients most often ask before booking their first permanent makeup appointment in Cheltenham. If yours isn't answered here, please reach out, I'm always happy to talk.
Permanent makeup is technically semi-permanent, most treatments last between twelve and thirty-six months depending on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and aftercare. Microblading typically fades faster than powder or combination brows, while lip blush and eyeliner tend to sit beautifully for two to three years. Annual or biennial colour boosts keep results looking fresh indefinitely.
Most clients describe the sensation as mild discomfort rather than pain, somewhere between a firm scratch and the feeling of eyebrow threading. A premium topical anaesthetic is applied before and during your treatment to keep you comfortable throughout. Lip treatments tend to be the most sensitive; brows and eyeliner are very tolerable for almost everyone.
Your first appointment is typically two and a half to three hours, which includes a thorough consultation, detailed brow or lip mapping, the treatment itself, and full aftercare guidance. The six to eight week perfecting session is usually around 90 minutes. I deliberately never rush, the time investment is part of why results look so natural.
Initial healing takes around seven to ten days, during which the pigment will look darker and more defined before softening significantly. Full healing and true colour settling happens by week six, which is exactly when your complimentary follow-up takes place. You'll be given a complete aftercare kit and detailed instructions to make healing as simple and comfortable as possible.
Most healthy adults over 18 are excellent candidates for permanent makeup. Treatment is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for those on blood thinners, or for anyone with certain skin conditions or autoimmune disorders in active flare. A consultation, always complimentary and without obligation, is the best way to confirm suitability and discuss any medical considerations.
Yes, correction and removal is a genuine specialism of mine. Whether you need colour neutralisation, reshaping, softening, or gradual saline removal of older work, I'll assess what's possible and give you an honest plan. Please send photos before booking so I can advise whether correction, cover-up, or removal is the right starting point.
Booking is simple, call, email, or message me through Instagram or Facebook, and we'll find a time that suits. A small non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment, which is deducted from your treatment balance. The Cheltenham diary books a few weeks ahead, so I'd recommend reaching out early for your preferred date.
Aftercare is refreshingly simple. You'll be sent home with a bespoke aftercare kit and clear, step-by-step instructions. For the first ten days, the treated area needs to be kept clean, dry in the right moments, and lightly moisturised with the balm provided. Avoiding heavy exercise, saunas, swimming, and direct sunlight during healing protects your investment and ensures the pigment settles evenly. I'm always a message away if you have questions during the healing window, you're never left to figure it out alone.
